{Writing Journal} Day 30: Snippets from The Rebel’s Bride

OMG, I almost forgot to post today! That’s what I get for allowing myself to get wrapped up with cover designs. 😀

Anyways, I was happy and sad to see the kids head back to school today. Happy because I got to really work for the first time since Christmas break started, which felt really nice. Sad because I had to send them away for the day. I love my little ones. not sure why they have to grow up.

After they left, I spent some of the morning writing The Rebel’s Bride before heading out to feed the cows with hubby. Then it was back to work on the story for awhile. I started a new scene that I’m not the happiest with, not sure what’s wrong with it but I’m hoping a good night sleep will help me figure it out. If not, I’ll reread it tomorrow to see if I can fix it before continuing on. If not, I’m going to keep going and figure it out later.

“I just want to be normal, Cyn.”

He stroked her cheek. “I know. But that isn’t your destiny, my love.”

“We make our own destiny. Together.”

“Are you sure you still want a lowly soldier?” he teased her, nibbling at her neck.

She giggled, wiggling in his arms. “You’re my warrior, my Nyfeli.” She touched the talisman around his neck. “I want to see you, Cyn. The real you.”

He drew away from her with a shake of his head. “Not tonight.”
Mina watched him as he removed his weapons and put them away. “Why not?”

Let's talk!
