I don’t know about the rest of you, but I hate Mondays. When I was a kid, it meant returning to school. When I started working for a living it meant the start of the work week of customer service and putting up with people’s bull shit. Now it means the end of my weekend without email, Internet, or marketing my books. I hate to see the start of my work week, knowing that I’ll be getting very little writing done, or see very little progress in book sells. But so is the life of a writer who wishes to make money doing what they love…Or is it?

I’ve been reevaluating my life and my career goals. I think there is a better way to do this whole writing/marketing/blogging/promoting/selling thing that annoying you or killing myself doing it. It might work a little slower and not make as many book sells in the beginning, but I think I’ll be happier and spend more time with my family. Part of this plan starts tomorrow.

For the next two weeks I’m going on a writing vacation. The revisions for Once a Valkyrja have been moving along quickly these past few days, but I didn’t realize just how rough this draft I had until I started editing it again. There is a lot of work that needs to be done on it before it can be released in May, so I’ll be spending the next two weeks just focusing on revising.  But I won’t be completely abandoning you. For the next two weeks I’ll keep my posts to Six Sentence Sundays and the first part of a Story Serial on Fridays.

I’ll miss you all. But I know that my absence will be worth it when Once a Valkyrja comes out at the end of May. Good luck, you all!
