Where Some of the Ideas for Persephone Came From?
The problem with mythology is that every myth, Greek or otherwise, that has ever been told or written, varies in the telling. Many of the basic themes are repeated, but details and even story lines will differ considerably from village to village, teller to teller, ethnographic region to ethnographic region, and century to century. Think of it this way, myths are stories that have told and retold for centuries, and no one wrote them down until about 800 BCE. That’s a very long time to be sharing stories.
